Canada promotes all types of business, large and small. Though people come to Canada for different reasons, many recognize the business opportunities in Canada and come to conduct business or open their own businesses. If you are someone who has had business management experience for 2 years out of the last 5, coming to Canada under the business class may be right for you and your family!
There are different categories under the business class, finding the best category for you is important to you and to us. The entrepreneur class has several advantages which may make it easier for you to qualify under this class. Unlike investors, who are required to invest a large sum into the Canadian economy, entrepreneurs are not required to do so. Entrepreneurs are a class of business people who not only are encouraged to open a business but also have a lower net worth requirement. The investor category requires 1.6 million in personal net worth and the entrepreneur only requires a personal net worth of $300,000.
Investors can opt to run a business in Canada if they want to, however, entrepreneurs are required to make a commitment to own and operate a business in Canada that will contribute to the economy and create jobs (employ at least 1 person, other than a family member). They also have 3 years to do this, which means that you and your family can come to Canada and settle and you still have time to decide what type of business you would like to be in. This gives you time to observe Canadian culture and trends and also to determine what type of business will be best for you taking into consideration the culture, needs and economic climate of that time.
