Thousands of people come to Canada each year to climb mountains, boat across lakes, stroll through major metropolitan cities, unwind and take in the beauty of the country. There are some very basic requirements you must meet before coming to Canada, such as having a valid passport and a visa. There are some person(s) and countries which do not require you to obtain a visa before coming to visit. For complete details of these requirements feel free to contact us.
Many visitors also come to visit family and friends, attend a family event or a gathering with friends. Attaching a letter of invitation and purpose of visit may strengthen your temporary resident visa application, for those who require a visa.
If you travel between Canada and your home country often or plan to, you can simplify things and cut down on cost by applying for a multiple entry visit. This is especially beneficial for those who come to Canada to conduct business but then return to their home country. If your visa expires, you do need to reapply for another one. For those who need a visa to enter Canada will also need one to pass through. A transit visa can be applied for and is free of cost.
The visa requirements and requirements for those who need visa’s, where to get them from, etc do change, therefore, it is important to have up to date information. This becomes especially important if you are in transit and/or travelling. The good news is you can usually continue on, without being subjected to the new regulation, however, it is best to be informed so that you can assess how the change affects you and your family.
The CIC recognizes that many people around the world have family in Canada and emergencies happen. If you need to visit Canada on an “urgent” visit there are provisions to do so. Anyone who needs to travel for family emergencies, such as a death in the family, or for urgent business reasons, will be processed as a priority. Workers whose employment is due to begin will also be processed on a priority basis. You would need to enclose an Emergency Processing Request Form on top of your visa application.
Each individual applicant must submit a completed temporary resident visa application form. Applicants under the age of 18 must have this form signed by a parent or a guardian.
All required documents must be included with your application:
- You must have a valid travel document (such as a passport).
- Two recent passport photos of each family member are required. Make sure these photos meet the requirements.
